     Carl Reginald Lightner was born on 7 June 1887 at Boyd County, Kentucky.^2,3 He was the son of George W. Lightner and Lovilla C. Unknown.⁴ He serving as a sailor aboard the USS South Dakota on 10 July 1910 at San Francisco, San Francisco County, California.⁵ He married Leta Isabella Ham, daughter of Taylor McDondle Ham and Mary Francis Bray, before 1914 at Oklahoma.^1,2 He and Leta Isabella Ham were divorced before 1930 at Oklahoma.⁶ He died in December 1986 at Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma, at age 99.⁷
