     Grace Layne was born on 10 December 1917 at Tennessee.1 She was the daughter of James Andrew Layne and Lula Evaline Thach.1 She appeared on the census of 5 April 1930 in the household of James Andrew Layne and Lula Evaline Thach at East Saint Louis, Saint Clair County, Illinois.2 She married Richard Leon Eaves, son of John T. Eaves and Alice E. Unknown, after 1940.3 She died on 29 January 2011 at Tennessee at age 93.1 Grace Layne Eaves was greeted in heaven by her family and friends Saturday, January 29, 2011.
Grace is now with her mom, Lou Thatch Layne; dad, Jim Andy Layne; husband, Richard Leon (Sleepy) Eaves; son, James Richard (Jim) Eaves. She also rejoined more family and friends; Chester Blevins, Carl Parmley and Loraine Massengale.
Grace attended secretarial school, owned and operated Eaves Trailer Parks, owned Turney's Grocery and volunteered many years at Kimball School.
She left many family and friends; son and daughter, Joey and Bett Eaves Price; grandpuppy, Teddy Price; long life friends Wes and Lois Farmer, Margaret Parmley, Jim Blevins, Clyde Massengale, Mickey McNeese, and Mildred Welch.

The family received friends 2 to 4 p.m. eastern time, Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. central time, Monday, January 31, 2011, at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.4 She was buried on 31 January 2011 at Jasper, Marion County, Tennessee.4

James Andrew Layne1,2

     James Andrew Layne also went by the name of Jim Andy.3,4,5 He was born on 19 June 1889 at Kimball, Marion County, Tennessee.1,3 He was the son of William M. Layne and Cynthia Ann Hunter.1 He married Lula Evaline Thach, daughter of Millard Fillmore Thach and Mary Jane Doss, after 23 December 1907 at Sequatchie County, Tennessee; This may not be Jim Andy Layne and Lou Thach. The 1930 US Census shows James and Lou in East St. Louis and there is another James and Lou Layne in Sequatchie County.6 He and Lula Evaline Thach appeared on the census of 5 April 1930 at East Saint Louis, Saint Clair County, Illinois.7 He died on 26 July 1945 at Richmond, Virginia, at age 56.4,8 Layne - James A. (Jim Andy), 56, died at Richmond, Va; Thursday morning, July 26. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lou Thatch Layne; one daughter, Mrs. Grace Eaves; mother, Mrs. Cynthia Layne, this city; two sisters, Mrs. B. W. Griswold and Mrs. Taylor Thatch of Chattanooga; three brothers, Patrick M. Layne, this city; Frank L. Layne, U. S. Army, and Scott Layne of kalamazoo, Mich. Funeral services were conducted from the home, Kimball, Sunday 3:30 p.m., with Elder Paul George Roberts, Tom Garland, Harry Doss, John Thach, Paul Pursley, Luther Thach. Interment in Cumberland View Cemetery. J. B. Rogers & Company in charge.8
