     John Marshall Hunter was born on 1 March 1863 at Meigs County, Tennessee.1,2 He was the son of Thomas M. Hunter Jr. and Sarah Ann Godsey.1 He witnessed the marriage of Joseph D. Hixson and Alabama Hunter on 23 January 1884 at Meigs County, Tennessee.3,4 He died on 18 April 1945 at Columbia, Maury County, Tennessee, at age 82.2

John Wesley Hunter1

     John Wesley Hunter was born in March 1876 at Arkansas.1 He was the son of James L. Hunter and Malissa Adeline Brashear.1 He married Della A. Stafford on 20 August 1894 at Yell County, Arkansas.2,3 He and Della A. Hunter had two children that died prior to the 1900 census.2 He married Laura Irene Williams on 25 August 1902 at Red River County, Texas.4 He died on 5 February 1918 at Texas at age 41.5,6 After the death of John and Laura their children went to live with John's brother Dora and his wife Ida.7

     John Wesley Hunter was born on 5 February 1940 at Titus County, Texas.1,2 He was the son of Walter Louis Hunter and Jessie Lee Lunsford.1 He married Sallie Rose Carrington, daughter of Richard H. Carrington and Violet Hanley, circa 1972 at Durant, Bryan County, Oklahoma.3 He died on 15 January 2021 at Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas, at age 80.3

John Wesley Hunter, 80, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 in Cleburne, Texas. He was born February 5, 1940 in Mt. Pleasant, TX to Walter L. and Jessie (Lunsford) Hunter. John was one of ten children. John and his wife Sallie “Carrington” Hunter celebrated 48 years of marriage. They were married in Durant, OK. Their marriage was blessed with 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Sallie “Carrington” Hunter; sons, Jackie Morris and wife Tammy, Wesley Hunter and wife Amy, and Jerry McGowan; daughters, Iowana Elaine Henson and husband Wayne, Rhonda Savage and husband Rodney; grandchildren, Richard, Tracie, Stacie, Casie, Cheryl, Wesley, John, Summer, Jackie, Matthew, Aidan, Rockey, Angel; great-grandchildren, Dakota and Bryan; sisters Peggy Strain, Josie Carrington, and Virginia Gwilt.3

Kenneth Dee Hunter

     Kenneth Dee Hunter was born on 19 September 1926 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. He was the son of James Alton Hunter Sr. and Reta Mae Shuler. He lived with Alton Hunter and Mae Shuler on 8 April 1940 at Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.1,2 He married Vera Lee Milliken, daughter of Russell Franklin Milliken Sr. and Laura Edna Richardson, on 12 January 1946. He and Vera Lee Milliken lived in 1980 at New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.3 He witnessed the burial of Russell Franklin Milliken Jr. on 10 January 2008 at Coahoma, Howard County, Texas.4 He witnessed the burial of Vera Lee Milliken on 3 January 2015 at Midland, Midland County, Texas.5,6 He died on 22 October 2016 at Marble Falls, Burnet, Texas, at age 90.7

Kenneth Dee Hunter was born September 19, 1926 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to James Alton and Reta Mae (Shuler) Hunter, Sr. He was raised in Johnson County Texas and East Dallas, Texas.

Kenneth went to work at North American Aviation on January 31, 1944 until WWII ended, and then for General Electric Co. on September 4, 1945. While there, he met Vera Lee Milliken and they married January 12, 1946. He had a 42 year career with General Electric Co. as an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, until his retirement in July of 1987.

He was very active in the Masonic Order, having served as Worshipful Master of two Lodges: William D. White #408 F&AM in Gretna, Louisiana and Blazing Star #413F&AM in Marble Falls, Texas. He was also High Priest of Burnet Chapter #453, Thrice Illustrious Master of Burnet Council #368 and Commander of Burnet Commandery #113 Knights Templar of Texas. Memberships included the York Rite College #14, Texas Knight of the York Cross of Honor, Companion of St. Austin Conclave Red Cross of Constantine and the Royal Order of Scotland. He had a Lifetime Teaching Certificate for the Esoteric Work as well.

He and Vera Lee built their home outside of Marble Falls in Burnet County. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, both parents and only brother. He is survived by his son, Keith Dee Hunter of Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter Karen Lee Kuhns of Lexington, South Carolina, four grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. He will be buried with his wife in Midland, Texas.
