     Benjamin Jefferson Hinds was born circa 1788 at North Carolina Researcher Ken Hinds list Benjamin's birthplace as Knox County, Tennessee. In 1788, Tennessee was still a part of the western lands of North Carolina and didn't become a state until 1796.1 He was the son of Levi Monroe Hinds and Huldah Byram.2 He married Mary Ann Childress on 17 October 1809 at Tennessee.3
