     Loyce Milliken was born on 27 February 1918 at Pearson's Chapel, Houston County, Texas.1 She was the daughter of Stephen C. Milliken and Lula Pearl Sowers. She died on 30 March 2003 at Houston, Harris County, Texas, at age 85.1 Mrs. Loyce Milliken Lightfoot, age 85, of Pearson Chapel, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2003, in Houston. Mrs. Lightfoot was born February 27, 1918 in Pearson Chapel and had lived in Huntsville and in Pasadena before retiring in Pearson Chapel in 1977. Mrs. Lightfoot was a housewife and had worked as a manager of a cafeteria. She was a member of the Pearson Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Lightfoot moved to Houston in 1996.

Survivors include - daughters: Martha Gray of Houston; Debra Sylvester and husband, Richard of Austin; sons: Van Lightfoot and wife, Cheryl of Monument, Colorado; Ricky Lightfoot and wife, Melissa of Mancos, Colorado; grandchildren: Shari Gray, Scott Gray, Marc Gray, Van Lightfoot III, John Lightfoot, Craig Erick, Elizabeth Sylvester Holder, Matthew Sylvester, Michael Sylvester, Nivale Lightfoot, Piedra Lightfoot, Savanna Lightfoot, and Tessa Lightfoot; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Cecil Lightfoot; and sisters, Margie Dishaw and Doris Walters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Loyce Milliken Lightfoot will be held Friday, April 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chuck Lightfoot officiating. Interment will follow in the Creek Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m.1
